Ben Avery 300 Meter Club Match Results 4/5/2013 by Rick Curtis

Dear friends,

It just doesnt get much better than what we had yesterday for our monthly club 300 meter match here in the shooting capitol of the world. When the first relay took their place on the line at 8:00am temps were in the mid 70's and when the last shot was fired for the day we were only in the low 80's! A slow, fish-tailing wind from the southeast kept you on your toes and helped knock down that pesky barrel mirage. Our little group welcomed newcomer Matt Collins, who I might add layed down for the first time ever in a competitive event and shot a fantastic 197-7X score with Bill Berta's 308! Matt also brought out his brand new Rem 700 tactical rifle and the consensus was that all it needs is a steady diet of good ammo to satisfy his X ring needs. We also were delighted to see newly crowned California State Fullbore Champion and all around good guy Randy Pike show up for our match. Randy is on his way back home to Texas but he will stay with us through the weekend and take part in some good mid range fun. As you can see the full results are attached and I look forward to seeing you on the line today

In closing I would like to add that for those of you who knew or knew of Walter Walsh it may interest you to know he passed a one of a kind milestone this past Thursday. Mr Walsh became the oldest living Olympian and will turn 106 in May! A friend of mine sent me some information about Walters long storied life and you can click HERE to view it

Be well my friends,
